Prevalent cerebrovascular and cardiovascular disease in people with Parkinson’s disease: A meta-analysis
Clinical Epidemiology Sep 13, 2018
Hong CT, et al. - This meta-analysis examined the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in people with Parkinson’s disease (PwP) via a search of electronic databases using terms related to Parkinson’s disease (PD) and CVD. Findings indicated a correlation between PD and CVD, which may be due to the shared pathogeneses between the two diseases or PD-related effects. Despite having fewer traditional vascular risk factors, PwP should be more aware of the risk of CVD.
