Using electronic health records data, 38,140 adult and 1,162 pediatric HS patients and controls were identified. Depression was prevalent in 30.0% of adults with HS compared with 16.9% of controls. Depression was found in 11.7% of children and adolescents with HS, compared with 4.1% of controls. Depression is common in HS children, adolescents, and adults.
