International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry Jun 15, 2019
de Ávila NM, et al. - In this retrospective study, researchers studied the prevalence of defective restorations in public dental service and determined the factors that are associated with re-intervention in primary teeth. Analyzing all clinical records (census) of children presenting restorations in primary teeth, who had undergone dental treatment in a public set during 1-year period, they identified 302 restorations placed in 114 children. The defect was reported in 37.7% of these children. They noted restorations with recurrent caries more frequently in caries-active patients and these restorations were frequently replaced.
