European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology Feb 21, 2018

Weintraub AY, et al. - In a university affiliated medical center in southern Israel, researchers investigated the prevalence and risk factors of urinary tract infection (UTI) one year following sub-midurethral sling (SMUS) incontinence surgery. As per findings, nearly 1 in every 5 women undergoing a SMUS operation would suffer from UTI within a year from surgery. They identified a marked association between the duration of hospitalization and readmissions in the first postoperative year and suffering from UTI.
