Prevalence and determinants of seborrheic dermatitis in a middle-aged and elderly population: The Rotterdam Study

British Journal of Dermatology Jan 31, 2018

Sanders MGH, et al. - Herein, experts investigated which lifestyle and physiological factors were related to seborrheic dermatitis. No correlation was determined between hormones and seborrheic dermatitis. Data indicated that male sex, light skin colour, winter season and a generalised dry skin increased the tendency for seborrheic dermatitis. Hence, bringing about an improvement in the skin barrier could be useful in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis.
