Heart Sep 15, 2017
Foroutan F, et al. — The purpose of this meta-analysis was to summarize the findings of observational studies used to determine guidelines for both donors and recipients to better understand which factors are associated with 1-year mortality post-transplant. Results indicated that, among recipients, age, congenital etiology, creatinine, and pulsatile mechanical circulatory supportwere significantly associated with 1-year mortality. Among donors, age and female donor to male recipient sex mismatch are significantly associated with 1-year mortality. No operative factors were determined to be significant predictors.
