Predictive value of 18 F-FDG PET/CT in patients with acute type B aortic intramural hematoma

Journal of Nuclear Cardiology Aug 10, 2017

Yang F, et al. – In this study, researchers appraised the risk predicting ability of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F–FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) for adverse aortic events (AAE) in patients with acute Stanford type B intramural hematoma (IMH). According to findings, chances of developing AAE were more in those with ulcer-like projection (ULP) and high 18F–FDG uptake and these patients might deserve closer surveillance with serial imaging.
