Precision medicine in type 2 diabetes: Clinical markers of insulin resistance are associated with altered short- and long-term glycemic response to DPP-4 inhibitor therapy

Dennis JM, et al. - Experts sought to explore whether measures of insulin resistance and secretion were correlated with glycemic response to dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP-4) inhibitor therapy. A consistent association was found between markers of higher insulin resistance and reduced glycemic response to DPP-4 inhibitors. This finding provided a starting point for the application of a precision diabetes approach to DPP-4 inhibitor therapy.
