Postoperative pain and analgesia administration in children after urological outpatient procedures

Schroder A, et al. - This research was conducted to evaluate the profiles of recovery and requirements of pain opioid medications in children after urological outpatient procedures. As per the outcomes, satisfactory pain control was attained via the combination of scheduled non-opioid medications for maintenance and opioids for breakthrough pain following outpatient urologic surgery in children. No specific patient, anesthetic or surgical factors that predicted postoperative opioid requirements were discovered.
