Postoperative epidural analgesia for patients undergoing pectus excavatum corrective surgery: A 10-year retrospective analysis

Siddiqui A, et al. – Safety, as well as efficacy of three most common epidural regimens, was compared in pediatric patients undergoing the Nuss procedure. Overall, postoperative analgesia provided by three epidural regimens did not differ significantly. However, a hydromorphone–ropivacaine epidural regimen seemed to provide more favorable outcomes than a fentanyl–bupivacaine regimen or a hydromorphone–bupivacaine regimen for managing day–1 postoperative pain and minimizing nausea/vomiting.
