Polymerization efficiency affects interfacial fracture toughness of adhesives
Dental Materials Feb 10, 2018
Pongprueksa P, et al. - Authors gauged the efficacy of kind and concentration of photo-initiator over the degree of conversion (DC) of adhesives on dentin/glass substrates and their mini-interfacial fracture toughness (mini-iFT) to dentin. The dark cure of the camphorquinone (CQ)/amine-containing adhesives was more efficient. However, the curing of TPO-based adhesives was faster. The mechanical properties of the resultant interfaces at dentin were affected by the differences in curing profiles.
