Polycystic ovary syndrome is a risk factor for diabetes and prediabetes in middle-aged but not elderly women: A long-term population-based follow-up study

Jaliseh HK, et al. - Herein, the incidence rate and hazard ratios of diabetes and prediabetes in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) were estimated, relative to healthy subjects. Findings demonstrated that for PCOS patients at late reproductive ages, routine screening for diabetes need not be emphasized in prevention strategies if these patients have not exhibited glucose intolerance up to that point.
