Platelet to lymphocyte ratio and red cell distribution width as prognostic factors for survival and recurrence in patients with oral cancer

European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology Sep 08, 2017

Tangthongkum M, et al. – The prognostic value of platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and red cell distribution width (RDW) markers was explored in predicting survival and recurrence rates in patients with oral cancer. High PLR served as a prognostic predictor for poor survival and recurrence in patients with oral cancer. However, further research work was required to confirm these findings. Whereas, RDW exhibit no prognostic value on any outcome.
