Plasma amyloid levels within the Alzheimer's process and correlations with central biomarkers

Hanon O, et al. - An inquiry was carried out of the plasma levels of amyloid β (Aβ)42 and Aβ40 in amnestic mild cognitive impairment (MCI), nonamnestic MCI, and Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients. Experts also intended to gauge the correlations between peripheral and central biomarkers. A link was disclosed between plasma Aβ with cognitive status and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers. This data indicated the significance of plasma amyloid biomarkers for diagnosis purpose.
