Placental weight and risk of neonatal death

Dypvik J, et al. - In the present study, the researchers intended to determine if there is an association between placental weight and neonatal death risk. The placenta is a determinant of fetal growth and there is an increased risk of infant death among babies who are born small for gestational age. This information indicates the correlation of placental factors with infant death, especially in deaths shortly after birth.
