Perioperative ketamine for analgesia in spine surgery: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

Pendi A, et al. - Low-dose supplemental ketamine is known to reduce pain after surgery. Whether or not ketamine is effective in reducing opioid consumption following spine surgery was investigated. It was shown that supplemental peri-operative ketamine reduced post-operative opioid consumption up to 24 hours following spine surgery.
