Peri-implant conditions and levels of advanced glycation end products among patients with different glycemic control

Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research Feb 08, 2018

Al-Sowygh ZH, et al. - The clinical and radiographic peri-implant parameters and levels of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) among different glycemic levels were determined in diabetic patients. The levels of AGEs with clinical peri-implant parameters were also determined. In patients with high glycemic levels, clinical and radiographic peri-implant parameters were poor and levels of AGEs were substantially high. The level of AGEs could serve as a potential marker of inflammation in diabetic individuals with peri-implantitis.
