Performance of SOFA, qSOFA and SIRS to predict septic shock after percutaneous nephrolithotomy
World Journal of Urology Apr 15, 2020
Peng Y, Zhang W, Xu Y, et al. - The ability of SOFA, qSOFA and SIRS were tested to prognosticate septic shock after Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). Researchers enrolled consecutive patients undergoing PCNL to evaluate the performance of SOFA, qSOFA and SIRS in predicting septic shock, the AUC of ROC curve and decision curve analysis were used to calculate the optimal cutoff values and their achieving time. Twelve cases (2.7%), out of 431 enrolled individuals, developed septic shock. After PCNL, compared with qSOFA and SIRS, the performance of SOFA in predicting septic shock was slightly greater. It was revealed that the comprehensive application of various criteria is recommended to assist early diagnosis of septic shock following PCNL.
