Paricalcitol and peritoneal protein loss in peritoneal dialysis: A double-center study
Blood Purification Apr 26, 2018
Jeronimo T, et al. - In a retrospective study, researchers assessed the link between paricalcitol and peritoneal protein loss (PPL) in peritoneal dialysis (PD), using X2-test, Student’s t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient and Logistic Regression analysis. Prevalent PD patients were divided into 2 groups: “with paricalcitol” and “without paricalcitol”. Patients medicated with paricalcitol exhibited lower PPL. An independent association of paricalcitol and dialysate/plasma ratio of creatinine (D/P creatinine) with PPL was demonstrated. In PD patients, a possible impact of paricalcitol on PPL was suggested.
