Oxidative stress in patients with endodontic pathologies

Vengerfeldt V, et al. – In this study, experts sought to compare oxidative stress (OxS) levels in the saliva and the endodontium (root canal [RC] contents) in patients with different endodontic pathologies and in endodontically healthy subjects. In endodontic pathologies, OxS was seen to be an important pathomechanism that was evident at both the local (RC contents) and systemic (saliva) level. OxS was significantly correlated with dental pain and bone destruction.
