Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma Jul 03, 2018
Kumagai K, et al. - Authors retrospectively reviewed the outcomes of treatment with low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) in patients who underwent opening wedge high tibial osteotomy (OWHTO). Mean age of the patients included in this study was 64 years. Results demonstrated the effectiveness of LIPUS treatment in patients after OWHTO. Whether or not LIPUS shortens the time to bone union around artificial bone substitute after OWHTO should be elucidated. In all cases, the bone union was confirmed and plate was removed.
