Outcomes of patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease on peritoneal dialysis: A meta-analysis
Nephrology Jul 03, 2018
Boonpheng B, et al. - Using MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane databases from inception through October 2017, the researchers evaluated the risks of death, technique failure, and peritonitis in autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) patients on peritoneal dialysis (PD). They enrolled 12 cohort studies with a total of 14,673 subjects on PD. The results of this meta-analysis suggested that ADPKD patients on PD had 0.68-fold decreased mortality risk compared with non-ADPKD patients on PD. They did not find associations of ADPKD status with the risks of technique failure or peritonitis.
