Nataraj A, et al. - Authors ascertained if surgery or nonoperative treatment had better clinical outcomes in neurologically intact patients with an intermediate severity thoracolumbar burst fracture. In this one of the largest studies, 4 burst fracture patients were examined, adjusting for both clinical and radiologic confounders and reporting patient outcomes with minimum 6-month follow-up. Results did not suggest any differences in outcomes between patients treated either surgically or nonsurgically.
