Hallström H, et al. – The purpose of this randomized clinical trial was to examine clinical, radiographic and microbiological outcome over twelve months following open flap debridement of peri–implantitis with or without antibiotics. It was shown that surgical treatment of peri–implantitis with adjunctive systemic azithromycin did not give 1–year clinical advantages in comparison to those only receiving open flap debridement.
