After weight loss secondary to biliopancreatic diversion surgery, omentin-1 levels were seen to increase significantly. Researchers detected a weak negative association with BMI and basal insulin levels. In both gender groups, BMI, weight, fat mass, waist circumference, blood pressure, glucose, total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, HOMA-IR and fasting insulin decreased in a statistical manner from basal values after bariatric surgery.
