Danet-Lamasou M, et al. - This study was performed to describe the association between diabetes mellitus (DM) and future risk of near vision impairment (VI) in a community-dwelling population of older people. For near VI in older people, DM was a risk factor, especially in those with a low or normal Body Mass Index (BMI). This risk profile ought to be taken into account in older adults to support their independence.
