Myogenic progenitor cells exhibit IFN type I-driven pro-angiogenic properties and molecular signature during juvenile dermatomyositis

Arthritis & Rheumatism Sep 29, 2017

Gitiaux C, et al. - This study examined the hypothesis that myogenic precursor cells (MPCs) could modulate vascular remodeling /angiogenesis during juvenile dermatoMyositis (JDM). These outcomes show a new type I Interferon (IFN-I) pathway in JDM, which activates the production of angiogenic effectors by MPCs, triggering their pro-angiogenic function to promote vessel recovery and muscle reconstruction.
