Multi-institutional outcomes for simultaneous and staged urinary and fecal diversions in patients without cancer

Romo PGB, et al. - As a part of this research, the morbidity and post-operative recovery were comparatively assessed between patients treated with urinary diversion after colostomy and patients undergoing simultaneous double diversion for non-cancerous conditions. Experts demonstrated similar morbidity and post-operative recovery, regardless of urinary diversion being performed after colostomy or during a double diversion.
