Mortality after coronary artery bypass grafting vs percutaneous coronary intervention with stenting for coronary artery disease: A pooled analysis of individual patient data
The Lancet Mar 07, 2018
Head SJ, et al. - In terms of mortality, a comparative scrutiny was conducted of the coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for patients with coronary artery disease. When compared to PCI, CABG exhibited a mortality benefit in individuals with multivessel disease, especially those with diabetes and higher coronary complexity. Subjects with left main disease did not display any benefit for CABG over PCI. Data recommended longer follow-up for better defining the mortality differences between the revascularisation strategies.
