Morphology of the ulnar insertion of the triangular fibrocartilage complex and related osseous landmarks
The Journal of Hand Surgery Feb 11, 2021
Okuda M, Sato K, Mimata Y, et al. - This research was sought to verify the morphology of the ulnar insertion of the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) and related osseous landmarks with 3-dimensional imaging. Twenty-six formalin-fixed cadavers were used in the study. The TFCC was inserted from the fovea to the middle part of the ulnar styloid at the ulna. The area and the long and short diameters of the TFCC insertion were investigated. It has been reported that the center of the TFCC insertion was slightly ulnar of the lowest point of the ulnar surface. This research indicated the center, the area, and the osseous relation of the ulnar insertion of the TFCC.
