Morphological analysis for subaxial cervical pedicle screw insertion in developmental and non-developmental canal stenosis
BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders May 19, 2019
Wang S, et al. - By the comparison of morphological parameters between developmental canal stenosis (DCS) and non-developmental canal stenosis (NDCS) patients, investigators conducted a study for the assessment of safety and feasibility of subaxial cervical pedicle screw (CPS) insertion. This study included 120 Chinese patients who had experienced cervical spinal multiplanar CT imaging. In terms of safety and feasibility, subaxial CPS came out to be more valuable for DCS patients than those with NDCS. Due to the smaller size of the subaxial cervical pedicle, its CPS insertion became difficult and recommendation, for both DCS and NDCS patients was made in preoperative CT evaluation.
