MicroRNA-146a negatively regulates the inflammatory response to Porphyromonas gingivalis in human periodontal ligament fibroblasts via TRAF6/p38 pathway
Journal of Periodontology Apr 11, 2019
Tang L, et al. - Researchers estimated the data to evaluate the consequence of miR-146a in P. gingvalis-induced inflammation responses through the regulation of TRAF6 in human periodontal ligament fibroblasts (HPDLFs). They noticed that P. gingvalis and its lipopolysaccharide (LPS) significantly induced miR-146a expression in HPDLFs. They also found that overexpression of miR-146a significantly repressed the IL-1ß, IL-6 as well as IL-8 secretion, TRAF6 expression, and p38 phosphorylation. After inhibition of miR-146a, they observed a significant increase in the levels of these indexes. They suggested the contribution of MiR-146a in negative regulation of P. gingvalis-induced proinflammatory cytokines secretion in HPDLFs though TRAF6/p38 MAPK pathway.
