Mandibular complete denture versus single-implant overdenture: A systematic review of patient-reported outcomes
Journal of Oral Rehabilitation | Aug 26, 2017
Nogueira TE, et al. – A systematic review was conducted which aimed to evaluate the comparative results of the complete denture (CD) and single–implant mandibular overdenture (SIMO) treatments by using patient–reported outcome measures. The authors found considerable improvement in patient–reported outcomes following the insertion of a single implant to retain a mandibular denture. They added that further well–designed comparative studies between SIMO and CD are needed to improve the level of evidence and to support the indication of SIMO treatment in routine practice.
