Khansa I, et al. - This study entailed the exploration of the skin and subcutaneous tissue management in complex open abdominal wall reconstruction. The data suggested that a multidisciplinary cooperation between the general and plastic surgeon was beneficial in cases of tenuous blood supply to the abdominal skin, in cases of redundant, marginal or excessive skin, and in cases of deficient skin.
