Li C, et al. - The purpose of this study was to assess the evidence regarding malone appendicostomy vs cecostomy tube insertion for children with intractable constipation. Authors recognized Malone appendicostomy and cecostomy tube insertion as comparable in terms of achieving continence. However, due to early or late complications, children treated with Malone appendicostomy seemed to be at higher risk of requiring additional surgery.
