Macular damage, as determined by structure-function staging, is associated with worse vision-related quality of life in early glaucoma
American Journal of Ophthalmology Jul 28, 2018
Garg A, et al. - Using structure-function association, experts identified early macular damage and evaluated its association with the National Eye Institute Visual Function Questionnaire (NEI VFQ-25). Findings suggested an association of early glaucomatous macular damage, as detected by abnormal topographical regions on measures of structure and function, with the decreased vision-related quality of life (VRQoL). No correlation was noted between arcuate damage outside the macula and VRQoL in early glaucoma.
