Long-term urinary symptoms in adolescent and adult women with congenital adrenal hyperplasia

Bogdanska M, et al. - In an Australian cohort of adolescent and adult women having congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) who have undergone feminizing genitoplasty in infancy, childhood or adolescence as a part of their management, the urinary symptoms were evaluated. Overall normal urinary flow but elevated post-void residual volumes were noted in patients with CAH. Results demonstrated that in comparison with a control population, this population of patients had an increased possibility of incontinence, urgency, and frequency.
