Long-term quality of life associated with early surgical complications in patients with ulcerative colitis after ileal pouch–anal anastomosis: A single-center retrospective study

Xu W, et al. - A retrospective review of ulcerative colitis (UC) patients underwent Ileal pouch-anal anastomosis (IPAA) was performed to assess surgical complications of IPAA and long-term quality of life (QOL). As per findings, early surgical complications might contribute to develop a poor Cleveland Global Quality of Life instrument score. Thereby suggesting to consider intentional control of risk factors associated with early surgical complications for patients with UC for pouch surgery.
