Long-term quality of life after endovac-therapy in anastomotic leakages after esophagectomy

Heits N, et al. - Endoluminal vacuum therapy (EVT) has been successfully established with promising survival rates in the treatment of anastomotic leakages after esophagectomy. Herein, researchers assessed its impact on health related quality of life (HRQOL). Based on the findings, it was concluded that EVT is a promising therapeutic option in leakages after esophagectomy. Notably, long-term HRQOL of EVT-treated patients was comparable to patients who did not suffer from postsurgical leakages.
