Pediatric Transplantation Jun 17, 2018
Ramos-Gonzalez G, et al. - In this retrospective analysis, the researchers explored the long-term outcomes of liver transplantation for hepatoblastoma (HB). For the purpose of this investigation, 25 subjects underwent liver transplantation for HB at a median age of 26 months (IQR: 15-44). The findings demonstrated that the overall long-term outcome of primary liver transplantation for HB was excellent. They reported that the highest contributor to mortality was tumor recurrence. They observed that even patients with completely treated pulmonary metastases prior to transplant showed a favorable survival.
