Long-term outcomes of endodontic treatment performed with Resilon/Epiphany
Journal of Endodontics Mar 27, 2019
Strange KA, et al. - Authors evaluated 125 teeth to assess radiographically the long-term consequences of endodontic therapy done with Resilon and/or Epiphany-treated root canals vs traditional gutta-percha/AH Plus in the University of North Carolina endodontic clinics. They treated 80 candidates with Resilon and 45 with gutta-percha. When compared with gutta-percha, they noted that Resilon-treated teeth were 5.3 times more inclined to have a periapical index of 3 to 5 at follow-up. Irrespective of the material used, they found teeth exhibiting preoperative lesions were more expected to present with a lesion at follow-up.
