Long-term outcome in inherited nephrogenic diabetes insipidus
Clinical Kidney Journal Apr 19, 2018
Sharma S, et al. - Researchers investigated long-term outcome in patients with a diagnosis of nephrogenic diabetes insipidus (NDI) in this single-centre retrospective medical record review. With regular treatment, favourable overall prognosis was achieved. Improvement in median weight standard deviation scores (SDS) from -2.1 at presentation to 0.2 at last follow-up was noted. At last follow-up, median estimated glomerular filtration rate was 81 mL/min/1.73 m2. Age of 11 years was the median age at resolution of nocturnal enuresis. Most complications were found to be associated with polyuria. During school age, medications were apparently found to be ineffective.
