Is testosterone replacement an effective treatment of secondary premature ejaculation?
Andrologia Nov 07, 2019
Tahtali IN - Individuals who applied to the clinic from May 2010 to August 2018 with premature ejaculation were involved in order to ascertain the features of persons with premature ejaculation relative to the four subtypes of premature ejaculation and to discover the efficiency of testosterone replacement therapy in the treatment of testosterone-deficient individuals with secondary premature ejaculation. In comparison with the other groups, those with secondary premature ejaculation were discovered to have notably lower testosterone concentration. Among those with secondary premature ejaculation, the shortest mean intravaginal ejaculation latency time and lowest International Index of Erectile Function-5 score were observed. Relative to treatment outcomes, recipients of testosterone replacement and dapoxetine recipients exhibited a 4.8-fold rise and a 1.8-fold rise in mean intravaginal ejaculation latency time, respectively. Thus, these findings show that for those with secondary premature ejaculation in the presence of testosterone deficiency, testosterone replacement could be an assuring treatment.
