Investigation of diffusion kurtosis imaging for discriminating tumors from inflammatory lesions after treatment for bladder cancer

Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Dec 21, 2017

Wang F, et al. - In this retrospective study, the physicians examined whether diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) could discriminate residual bladder tumors (RBT) from post-therapy bladder inflammatory lesions. In distinguishing RBT from inflammatory lesions after bladder cancer treatment, mean kurtosis value (MK) obtained from DKI provided better performance than conventional diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI). MK calculated with high b-values setting provided better performance in differentiation.
