Intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted imaging in assessing bladder cancer invasiveness and cell proliferation

Wang F, et al. – Researchers undertook this study to evaluate whether intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) diffusion–weighted imaging (DWI) can differentiate nonmuscle–invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) from MIBC and to analyze whether there were associations between IVIM parameters and the Ki–67 labeling index (LI). The D value observed from intravoxel incoherent motion exhibited better performance than conventional diffusion–weighted imaging for identifying NMIBC from MIBC and may provide as a potential imaging biomarker for bladder cancer invasion.
