Interpersonal psychotherapy for eating disorders with co-morbid eating disorders: A pilot study

Back M, et al. - Here, the authors investigated the effect of an interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) treatment for eating disorders (ED), with the focus on the depressive symptoms. Findings indicated the usefulness of IPT for concurrent depression and ED with a bingeing/purging symptomatology. Among these patients, working with negative affect and problem-solving related to current interpersonal problems could alleviate general psychological distress.
