Integrated multi-omic predictors for ovarian cancer survival

Carcinogenesis Apr 26, 2018

Fu A, et al. - Researchers constructed robust, cross-validated multi-omic predictors for ovarian cancer survival by performing integrative analysis on tumor-based exome-, transcriptome-, and methylome-wide molecular profiles from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) for variations in cancer-relevant genes. The prediction of long-term overall survival in TCGA patients, with better accuracy than that of previously proposed protein-based biomarker strategies, was seen with the polygenic survival scores. Overall, in enhancing existing prognostic strategies, an integrated omics-based approach appeared promising.
