Injection volume and anesthetic effect in serratus plane block

Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine Nov 08, 2017

Kunigo T, et al. - The dermatomal spread and analgesic impacts of serratus plane block were examined in this prospective randomized controlled study. Findings demonstrated that ultrasound-guided serratus plane block spread in the craniocaudal direction was more widespread with 40 mL than with 20 mL of 0.375% ropivacaine. Furthermore, it was observed that a larger volume of injection did not extend the time until the first postoperative analgesic rescue dose.
