Pediatric Diabetes Jun 06, 2018
Latzer IT, et al. - The presence of disordered eating behaviors (DEBs) between adolescents and young adults with a dual diagnosis of type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) and celiac disease (CD), and people with only one of the diagnoses were compared in this investigation. The study population contained four hundred three people, of whom 65% were females. No statistically significant differences was found among the groups in distribution of sex, age, hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) levels, age of disease diagnosis and duration. Results of this study suggested that people with the dual diagnoses of T1DM and CD had an increased probability to develop DEBs compared to those with only one of these diagnoses.
