Incidental findings on coronary computed tomography angiography in HIV-positive and HIV-negative persons

Reinschmidt S, et al. - Considering the great impact of incidental findings on coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) on the benefits and costs of testing for cardiovascular disease, researchers sought for the association between incidental findings and HIV-infection. Among HIV-positive and HIV-negative persons, incidental findings were highly prevalent. HIV-infection was not noted to be linked with an increased risk of incidental findings. In the HIV-positive group, age and smoking, and in the HIV-negative group, age and a CAC-score >0 were associated with incidental findings.
